Skotch Bonnett Band

Skotch Bonnett, has been heating up the South Florida scene and capturing the stage with their flavorful blend of Reggae, Soca, R&B, Top 40’s and Rock & Roll. Their “Uniqueness" is a Male front lead with a classic mix of three-part female background harmony, dubbed as Sweetness, very similar to the likes of Bob Marley’s I-Threes and Beres Hammond’s Harmony House Singers - Then the ladies each take their turn in the spot light and belt out crowd favorites such as “Can’t Hurry Love” by Diana Ross & the Supremes,“Simply the Best” by Tina Turner to “Smooth Operator” by Sade, infusing the flavor of reggae riddims that reflects the band’s authentic Caribbean roots.


The seven-piece band was created in 2015 by Ray C. Gordon, who's company, RCGM management has an extensive history in managing various Artist, both solo and group settings. After the first year it became clear that the band had something new and exciting to offer the South Florida community and knew the time was right to introduce the band to a wider audience. Ray continues to finetune his vision for Skotch Bonnett which has resulted in the band’s unique sound and has given them the edge to need to bring them to the top.


Excited as they were about the vision, the band never anticipated the enthusiasm which critics and fans alike found for their music. Local DJ and radio host, Steve Warner, host of says “The band’s uniqueness brings to the South Florida area a performance like none other”. Local restaurateur, Webb Innocent, owner of Krave Restaurant & Lounge, the band’s resident venue 2017, agrees the entertainment is top notch and his customers are thrilled with the live band experience. Cat Coore, one of the founders of the renowned “Third World Band” was amazed at the talent of the singers and the musicians the first time he heard them perform.


Skotch Bonnett has played on various stages for the cities of Deerfield to Sunrise for their summer music festivals. They have also performed at the annual Haitian “Zakafest” in Miami and City of Sunrise Kiwanis Club special events, just to name a few. The band’s next big move is a live recording and studio project already in its initial stages!
